Þú komst til að kveðja í gær.
Þú kvaddir og allt varð svo hljótt.
Á glugganum frostrósin grær.
Ég gat ekkert sofið í nótt.
Hvert andvarp frá einmana sál,
hvert orð sem var myndað án hljóms
nú greindist sem gaddfreðið mál
í gervi hins lífvana blóms.
En stormurinn brýst inn í bæ
með brimgný frá klettóttri strönd,
því reiðum og rjúkandi sæ
hann réttir oft ögrandi hönd.
Því krýp ég og bæn mína bið,
þá bæn sem í hjartanu er skráð.
Ó, þyrmdu honum, gefðu honum grið.
Hver gæti mér orð þessi láð?

Where to go from here. OK. Some memories of long forgotten days...
Good morning, could I have this shirt cleaned express, please?
Yes, that’ll be three weeks, dearie.
Three weeks? But the sign outside says 59-minute cleaners.
Yes, that’s just the name of the shop, luv. We take three weeks to do a shirt
Just the name of the shop?
Yes, that’s if there’s an R in the month. Otherwise it’s four weeks. Your name does begin with a P, doesn’t it?
Well, no, actually, of course it’s, uh...
Well, that’ll be five weeks, then.
Five weeks? Blimey.

Yes, because of the eurocrisis, and the stricter rules at the banks, we do not changge coins for cigarettes.
Just so you know.
And just now the churchbell strikes eleven. I'm waiting while my wife visits a friend. Taxiservice me.

This exercising-field is empty now. I guess nobody's in for a good workout right now.

And the right half of the rainbow over Reitdiep. The photo shows a second rainbow above this rainbow. It's a very faint ring which I didn't see while I took the picture.
The left half of the rainbow over Reitdiep. Actually, the photo shows a second rainbow above this rainbow.

Even keeping the camera straight while standing on the balcony was difficult because of the storm. Not even half-an-hour later the rain came.
The camera is still at macro. Sometimes I forget to reset it.

On the walls in the maze of twisted passages all alike there is a map. Possibly it shows the way out of the colossal cave. I remember something about releasing the canary from it's cage?

Before Trilok Gurtu sat behind his drumkit to play with the Jan Garbarek group, the audience waited.
Actually, Trilok Gurtu and the piano-player were the stars of the evening. They outplayed the others, including Jan Garbarek himself, who appeared not inspired. They were all shoegazers and didn't make contact with each other or the audience. Except the piano-player, a German whose name I didn't catch.

Out at the Noordkaap area near Roodeschool the windmills disappeared in the mist. At the top-level the sun shone bright. This one was more visible than the others.

The red light district it is not but the red light is abundant.
A red sunset, a smoke cloud from the sugar factory and upcoming fog. Ingredients of the view in the direction of Gravenburg.
While a truck drives past the Hooihuis becomes more visible. The fog seems to be lifting this way. Towards the south it is still very thick.
Friday, November 18, 2011
Again there is mist coming up. For days we have thick fog and only sometimes it clears up a bit.

And slowly it gets darker on this autumn day with a wintery feeling.
Clouds and smoke and a barely visible sun in the direction of Hoogkerk.

The next morning, this morning, the full moon is visible on the west side
of our house.
Friday, November 11, 2011
Just before children will come trick or treating, singing the traditional Dutch Saint Martin's songs, the full moon rises in the east.

This figure inside the Gasunie building reminded me of a Chinese character.
Maybe she is a misfit within this remarkable design but she is a beautiful misfit.

The local supermarket stores it's veggieburgers next to the sausages. Non >vegetarian real nice salami's and chorizo's. Which sucks for the
veggieburgers, doesn't it?
Here in Diepholz in Germany tens of thousands of cranes stop for some time on their trek. Alas, it also attracts many viewers who scare away the birds.

Waiting to be munched tonight. And then I'll be done with Cadbury Double
Deckers for a while. Maybe next year I will feel like devouring another one.

Numbers written with a pencil on a concrete wall. Possibly to remember
important dimensions during construction of the building.

Paviljoen van Starkenborgh is a beautiful spot. I didn't know about it. We
are having coffee and apple pie.

I am of course very temped by these posters since this is my favourite
country and it is not too much money. It may not be the right time though,

Waiting for the train to take me home after three incredibly beautiful days
in the Alps where we walked up the Zugspitze.
Monday, October 3, 2011
Circling around the entire Zugspitze are choughs, crowlike birds with yellow beaks. This one landed next to our table possibly planning to steal some remains from my plate.

Beautiful valley where cars and motorcycles cannot enter. There are loads of
cyclists and hikers though. But all in all this is a very quiet valley.

Possibly a better picture. The GPS was very off and has attached a different location. I will try and find the right place.
