Bloodbank

Bd, originally uploaded by XPeria2Day.

So the examiner drew so much blood for testing that there were tiny droplets all over. She had to clean me up.

Dorkwerd again

Dw, originally uploaded by XPeria2Day.

A few days later Dorkwerd looks gray and wintery.

Still life with pole

Most of the Reitdiep is either frozen or covered in a lot of snow. On the edges the ice is yellowish.

Snow-plough

Snow, originally uploaded by XPeria2Day.

Not that it helped much because most of the snow had turned in an icy floor on the underground. And the plough only seemed to make the surface more slippery. Still, a great machine that made a wonderful sound, like singing.

Ferry cross the Channel

Ferry cross the Channel, originally uploaded by XPeria2Day.

With our favourite waiter from Portugal, who explained the differences in coffees between Italy and Portugal for me. "In my country we make very good coffee but we don't make Ferrari's.".

Bom Dia.

Obrigado.

A last smoke on British soil for Veet before we departed on our two-hour journey to France. From Dunkirk it is only five hours to home.

I Am Not a BurgerKingburger

I Am Not a BurgerKingburger, originally uploaded by XPeria2Day.

I must have had three burgers in my life. From the competitor emcee donald duck. I believe that a well-made burger can be very tasty. Not so these plastic one.

I guess I will have to experiment a bit in the kitchen and then I can come up with a great hamburger.

Buhrgerkihng

Boring place to wait for the boat. Good hot chocolate, though, which we got after some miscommunication due to the big noise in the hall. Looking at Buhrgerkihng while we sat.

Friendly place. Only waiting for Gordon Ramsey to clean it up.

Uncozy, originally uploaded by XPeria2Day.

This place had known better times. We didn't want to have a bite at the two other places where coaches stopped for sunday roast. The waitresses were very friendly but we felt it was too crowded.

On the other side of the street was another place which was very quiet. It had obviously known better times but we were served with such great smiles that we didn't mind.

I only hope they get Gordon Ramsey to clean the mess up because I think they're worth it.

Cream in Minehead

Cream in Minehead, originally uploaded by XPeria2Day.

Historically, Taunton is part of Minehead already. It was the only thing on my mind when I wandered through Minehead, enjoying the seaview on a quiet, wintery day. And then we were cold and wanted a warm drink. Cream is where we found it.

Soon a grandfather, grandmother (presumably) and their granddaughter sat on this table. The grandfather read the girl from the Three Little Piggies: "So he huffed, and he puffed, and he puffed, and he huffed, and at last he blew the house down, and he ate up the little pig."

And the little girl was so totally into the story that I couldn't refrain from watching them. It was very touching and beautiful.

This place was the best find during our holiday in the neighbourhood of Minehead. I had the best hot chocolate in ages with a delicious piece of cake. Cream!

This is the info I got off the net about them:

Here in Croydon Hall, Somerset, life is calm, tranquil, quiet. Only it's just the crust on the magma. Beneath the surface, emotions are boiling hot.

The palmtree next to Croydon Hall

I'm guessing it was planted by the German Count who owned the place until he had to give it up at the start of World War One. Croydon Hall is a building that forces it's occupants to make place for new occupants every once in a while. It's a natural process.

It got caught in our new house. We let it free outside where it got picked up by the storm and possibly died while diving in a whirlwind. Let's hope it survived.
