Depending on where you live this is a ladybird or a ladybug. The Latin name is Coccinellidae.

Walking in the wilder parts of the Onlanden I sank to my knees in the mud.
A place to get lost in reminds me of Southern Comfort, the movie.
I love the Onlanden and I hope they leave this spot intact.

Towering high above this tree is the uniquely shaped building of DUO.
I grew up amid fields of tulips. I'm not terribly fond of them, though.

Und mit fünfzig Kanonen wird beschiessen die Stadt.
Und wenn dann der Kopf fällt, sag ich: Hoppla!
Pippilotta Viktualia Rullgardina Krusmynta Efraimsdotter Långstrump's father's ship.
I'm reminded of many things and one of them is Captain Beefheart in concert in 1982 where he didn't play Electricity.
Bathing in the late sun the buildings where the scheming library boys and girls work.
In Reitdiephaven above Jumbo supermarket the clouds reflect in the windows of the new building.

A pattern emerges from the lines of the floorboard and the light and shadow of the railing.

A great place to hide for the sudden heavy rain and hailstones.

You may call the approaching buildings a sign of progress. Or not.
Gently down the Reitdiep stream.
Merrily merrily merrily merrily life is but a dream.
The Reitdiep river flows under the bridge at the Professor Uilkensweg.

The carpark at the railway station in Zuidhorn feels very French because of the trees which make it look like a southern village square.
On the way from Leeuwarden to Zuidhorn the train stops in some small villages like Feanwâlden aka Veenwouden.
No visit to Leeuwarden is complete without a picture of the Achmea tower.
Three office buildings with Bonnema's Achmea tower in the back.
The offices of De Friesland insurance company with a very green, round pond in front.

Moving very fast this lonely cloud passes over Heemwerd.
Monday, April 16, 2012
To the left we have Gravenburg, De Held and Hoogkerk.
And to the right we have Heemwerd and Dorkwerd.

Standing on the platform for a high view of the meadows around the Lieverensediepje.
To enable fish to swim upstream here is a cascade of steps.
Clouds to the left of me... Which is right, actually.

Donald it isn't. There are three ducks and a coot. A normal everyday kind of duck and a normal everyday kind of coot. And there are two special ones. The one in the front is a beautiful caramel colour and the one swimming towards her (?) has a black head, white eyes and a yellow beak. It's a pity my cellphone doesn't zoom in.
Nor Huey, Dewey and Louie. Actually, I took the picture because I don't know what kind of duck the left one is. It has a black head, with a white eye and a yellow beak.

Spakbusters! Is who you gonna call now. Immediately.
If you're seeing things
running through your head
Who can you call?
An invisible man
sleeping in your bed
Oh, who you gonna call? Spakbusters!
The weather is very quiet and there is almost no wind. The clouds reflect in the water.

This must be Icelandic weather going back and forth between sun, rain and sleet.
